How do you set up your Mcmaster email account with your iphone or ipad?
I did everything accordingly but it wouldnt work. Can someone kindly post step by step process with a precision in mind for the other people to see?

1. Go to settings then go to mails, contacts, calendar
2. Add account and select other
3. go to add mail account
4. Follow this format:

IMAP Account Information
Name: (your name)
Email: (your mcmaster email)
Description: you can put McMaster

Incoming Mail Server:
Host name: mcmasterimap.mcmaster .ca
Username: (your MacID)
Password: (your MacID pw)

Outgoing Mail Server:
Host name: mcmastersmtp.mcmaster .ca
Username: (your MacID)
Password: (your MacID pw)

5. after entering the following, tap on SMTP
6. go to primary server and make sure it's set to on
7. at the bottom, enter server port 587

afterwards press save and it should work, hopefully...

i had it set up previously and it worked fine but i just reset my phone and now i'm tryng to do this again and it doesn't work. it keeps saying that my macid or password is wrong and it shouldn't be. i've even tried changing my password at http://www.mcmaster.ca/uts/macid/ in case it was wrong for some reason and it still doesn't work. anyone know what could be wrong?

Did you set ur Imap in gmail?
Did you use the above address (I helped a student today and the above worked , not univ.cis.mcmaster.ca)

what do you mean set my imap at gmail? i did use the above addresses

Go to ur mac email. Click the gear>settings.
Click POP/IMAP tab enable pop/imap

it was already enabled :(

i don't know if this had anything to do with it, but every time i sign onto my mcmaster account on the computer, i sign on here, https://sso.mcmaster.ca/shibboleth-i...n/UserPassword. and i have remember username and password on but the very first time i try to logon, it always says wrong username or password. but i click the second time and it works. both these times are using the same remembered username and password so i'm not sure why this is

it still keeps saying the "the user name or password for mcmasterimap.mcmaster .ca is incorrect"... but i can logon with it on the computer

I tried all that and it never worked so I downloaded the gmail app and set it up through that instead. Works well for me.

Theres a simpler way that worked for me! Jus google mcmaster email and set it up with gmail.
Once youve done that you should be on your gmail for mcmaster and thy should be synced.

Then click the middle icon on your iphone at the bottom and press add to homescreen and the icon will show up on your homepage. Like an app!

There are two pics attached hope it helps even though im not that clear lol. It shows the location of the icon and how it looks on the homescreen. I have both my regular gmail and mcmaster side by side.

I'm having this exact same problem. i had it synced to my iPhone along with my hotmail but then it stopped working. and yes I've read and already been through all the support on the mac site as some users have obviously posted
