if i attend to school in May, am i first year student in September or second year?

Never heard about this. Perhaps calling the Registrar? registrar.mcmaster.ca

Edit: I thought that google voice was free to call Canada, but if you aren't in Canada or the US it's actually 1cent/minute... Maybe sending them an e-mail, although you may have to try multiple times throughout the next month because it's really busy.

it said mac indeed has spring/summer semster, but i am not sure it can be used for international student. anyone can helps?

contact the registrar directly and if you give them good enough reasoning they'll help you out and make an exception even if it's not usually done. I've tried this and they really do help. I'm not international though but just check it out.
