I've watched an awful lot of them by now, and my fave by far is UBC because of the sheer volume of people representing probably every club, team, and sport they have. There is always something going on!! Many other videos have 40, maybe 80 people, but throughout UBC has massive crowds looking very organized.
I can't say I'm ridiculously hopeful for us because I don't know if people understand that this will likely take at least a full day to set up and run, especially as it is all only one take!
Maybe this is something where we should aim to do something different.... because IMO it will be very hard to do better.

Meanwhile, in the Halls of McMaster's Finest.....
"So, we should do this whole.....Lip Dub thing."
"Lift-Up?"
"Lip Dub."
"Oh."
"Ya. And we need a better song."
"Something with... pa-zaaz."
"With what?"
"Err, something that pumps people up?"
"Hm....anything come to mind?"
"Well, there is this one song - you know, totally CLASSIC 90's - that we could use."
"Aww yeah, Nirvana, right?"
"No, actua--"
"Semisonic?"
"Um I was gon--"
"Oh, Sloan! It's gotta be Sloan! Ah, what's that song - Money....Money City....ah, Coin Urban Lunatics, amirite?"
"Hm, kinda. I was thinking this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0AOVf9p9ht4
---(long, uninterrupted silence)---
"......YEAH!" (jump in the air and high-five each other in a strangely keen fashion à la the forced enthusiasm of Welcome Week photos)
And so filming for McMaster's mightiest YouTube sensation began.....
.......and the imaginative light of the universe went out with a fizzle.

Also, Western is doing theirs on october 7, like 2 weeks after ours. I wonder if that is intentional.

^^ actually its not really one take, if u look at UBC's youtube page they show you how they made it, sort of. and you can see that they did several shots, used video tracking, and even layered some shots together to create a more packed look in some scenes ( though that scene with all those ppl in the swimming pool was real, man i doubt we can get that many out)
also i dont know if this is tru, but i heard that were doing ours sometime in September, which i think is a bit early cus to get it up to UBC standards it would take a couple months to fully plan out and choreograph.
also, they got some pretty sweet and famous celebs to Ft. in their vid which was cool.
also what most ppl have already said, we would need major sponsorship to fund something on that scale, they got a a friken helicopter lol, plus i dont think the celebs were free either, correct me if im wrong.
so we shouldnt aim to beat them, just aim to make it look good and presentable and not..... as everyone says corny

QFT,
Nobody is hyped about being @ MAC. The city sucks, the campus is gloomy and the technology is down most of the time. The only good thing we have going is macinsiders.

Hamilton is ****ing awesome. You hate on Hamilton because you never leave Westdale, the most boring part of the city.

Here's a surefire way of making ours better than UBC's:
Do not open with Charlie Sheen or Isaiah Mustafa jokes.
Seriously, they aren't funny anymore.
EDIT: Oh, and ours needs better music.

we can't underestimate western. they have alot of spirit and pride. all of their downtown gets decorated white and purple for like a homecoming game or just a regular freaking monday, it's intense. we need to outsmart them. we are the more clever ones.
