Alright so I'm like really pissed out of my mind right now, Is mcmaster's solar really this retarded..
Anyways, it says blocked-outstanding account on solar, I'm trying to register for spring/summer courses...

and how do you know you owe money for osap, i checked mugsi under accounts and services, and payment agreement doesn't say anything just blank, i contacted student services, there extenstions are from monday...etc...I'M PISSEDDDDDDD! should i talk to my student advisor

is anyone pissed just as me?

WTH so pissed i went to the financial office and appraently they changed if you are on osap in fist sem the school took some money for the tuition but now you have to give them the money.. what is upsetting is i didnt get a letter or an email as a notification !
maybe this is the same for you just check in case:

You should have gotten an email saying that the deadline to pay was March 15th. Meaning that if you haven't paid your full account by then you will be blocked. So if you have a positive account in your account statement, then you have an overdue account and will be blocked from obtaining your grades and registering for classes until you have paid up.

Alright but how do you pay for your account, and if you passed the deadline for march 15th? and my account statment said 2260.50, but when you click the links for the months i.e. like april 2011

you can pay your account whenever. There should be a pay you account option which allows you pay it online through a bank. You can also write a cheque and give it student accounts, i think (never tried this way before)

isn't it on mugsi, where it says pay your account, yeah but i just don't get how much i have to pay, my parents told me they already payed :S

you log onto mugsi, then you go to my mugsi and then click on the accounts and cashiers then click on pay your account

How do you know how much you owe them from these statistics

does the negative feee 4565 say i payed that much amount and i owe them around 2 grand more...since my total fees are around 7 grand

Any negatives means they gotta pay you. Look at the summary line STUDENT ACCOUNT BALANCE.

i think you are same situation as me i thought everything was paid in the beginning of the year b/c that is how it was for my older siblings, the university would take money for tuition from their osap, they never had to take money form the osap and write a check to the university (b/c the univerity took that on their own). now for this term, you have to pay them, go to gilmore hall on monday they open at 9-4 right when you open the main door their is an office right in-front of you open that door at talk to them for more information and help. for paying the tuition ( my amount is similar to yours too i have to pay $2000 something which is basically the 2nd terms tuition) there is an office called student accounts and cashiers on the second floor of the gilmore hall building you can pay using debt card or you can pay online at home

positives mean you have to pay. negatives mean that it is a credit and the school owes you money

This is why you should actually READ the payment agreement for the payment plan that you selected during registration. All of this information in is there, nobody should have to send you an email to remind you and it shouldn't be a surprise.

Also both of you are really not explaining your situations well, so we really can't tell if there was any mistake or not, but from what you've written it seems like you selected the osap payment plan (mavimalik you definitely did because the fees were listed in the charge breakdown you posted), and for those plans you aren't paying in full in September. Only the "payment in full" option has you paying everything in September, so obviously you need to pay the rest at some point...and that deadline was Mar15, which is clearly written in the payment plan.

OSAP doesn't come all at once, I believe. Some of it is released at the beginning for first term and some at the beginning of second term. The payment agreement takes this into account and it actually does make a lot of sense - you don't get the rest of your OSAP money until January or something, so you are off the hook for that money until January. Then once January hits and you have supposedly gotten your OSAP money, you have to pay it then.

So if you didn't check your account since the beginning of the school year you probably didn't realize that you still owe some money. At least, I think that's what happened to me (though luckily I heeded their email and paid by the 15th). Just pay it off (you can do it online or by going to Gilmore Hall) and you should be able to access SOLAR. Also as a heads up, I think you don't get your final marks or transcript released until you pay it either.

OSAP is released 60 40. There should be a final balance there but judging from that data it should be 7275.98-70-4685.48 = 2560.50 owing

Pro tip. If your parents have dental/health insurance you can choose to opt out next year in september. saves you ~170 bucks
