McMaster Work Programs. Can it count towards co-op?
Hi I am in first-year Computer Science and I'm looking for a co-op job this summer. There is a very suitable job posting throught the McMaster Work Program, I was wondering if this could count towards my co-op designation

Hi Julianface,
I am assuming you have already been approved by the McMaster work program (ie. you have applied through MUGSI already?). If you haven't, that would be a good place to start, to ensure you can actually even apply for that position, otherwise you will not be considered at all. In terms of it counting towards your co-op placement, you would have to double check with your program advisor whether or not that would be adequate. Its my guess that the two are seperate, since there are specific co-op positions available on OSCAR as well as work-programs.

1. Its hard to get any work or coop through OSCAR if you're a first year
2. It won't be coop because the posting will specifically be WORK, you will have to talk to a person in engineering coop, as well as the employer, to work out an agreement. The idea of a coop is to learn and whatnot, and requires you to do reports and other things in addition to the work, for the most part.
