About Mechanical Engineering
I know that we have about 780 first year Engineering students and my question is: Roughly how many students will be accepted into Mechanical Engineering discipline in second year?

Unless the number of first years has greatly decreased, think first year starts off with ~1000 people. As for Mechanical, my second year we had around 100 or so.

First year had 1500 people 3 years ago when it started, and about 1000 when it was over.

Gotta love uncited statements.

This is not true. 1500 would have defined nearly half the engineering population of Mac 3 years ago (source: The Canadian Engineering Accreditation Board bi-annual report which has all statistics: http://www.engineerscanada.c a/file...ment_en g.pdf)

As for the OP: That report above also tells you how many Mech Eng there were at Mac last year.

Enjoy.

Im citing it from my memories. I was just as interested in the amount of people biting the dust as other eng students. So I was checking out my avenue class lists. The 1500 students did not include comp sci people or btechs.
