does any one know how this course is...in terms of difficulty and relative to other bio courses.

I took this course last year. I would say that it is comparable in difficulty to Mol Bio 3H03 (Nucleus). It may be a little easier in some respects because you do a presentation on a primary research article as opposed to a critique. But then again it depends on what you like..
There were 3 quizzes and they were detail oriented. You shouldn't skip class because there are times when he mentions things that aren't in the lecture notes. These things may sometimes appear on the quizzes.
Oh and the final exam was fairly straightforward and cumulative. A good understanding of the major concepts and memorizing your lecture notes should be good enough.
