Where can a first year get a job close to mac? Preferable cash job but anything will do really...is there a way to take part in campus experiments for money (i heard this a wile back)?

Its not that hard to find a min wage job... dust off your resume and submit it, theres half a dozen places that were hiring close-ish to mac/main, and thats just off the top of my head... go look and put in the effort!

Oscarplus is also an easy go-to option but jobs there are more competitive and academically oriented positions require more than usual out of you (such as being upper year).

there is usually posters around campus needing test subjects. ive done a few of them but they are infrequent and pay $10 for 1 hour. you may be lucky to get 1 hour a week, so i wouldnt count on them

Anybody have tips on how to get a job inside Mac? Last time I checked oscarplus = nothing. Well, nearly nothing, there were a couple openings for TAing and CA...which I don't qualify for..

But other part-time work? I would look outside Mac, except I don't have time right now to get a work permit.

Hospitality services, 1280, paradise catering, etc. Just look up what services go on at and in mac and enquire.. there are so many various companies that work with mac its mind-boggling, and most students think its all run by the university. Theres also a few(?) cleaning companies that work at the hospital and campus that I applied with too late last summer, might be worth looking into.

The point I'm trying to get across is that research is very key, as most students have your approach to looking for work: "hurr durr guys are there any openings or tips you can give me on how to easily get a job?"

Faer says thanks to RyanC for this post.

Yeah, you're right. :/ Sorry about that. I'm just not sure where to start - but I'll do some more research before I ask around like this again.

Thank you!
