A new urgent care centre is now open at 690 Main Street West as of 8 a.m. today. It will be open 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. every day.
The entire renovation project has a $2.5 million budget. It will be staffed by 14 nurses and a rotation of 25 emergency department doctors, who had to volunteer. The medical centre will have three assessment chairs and five assessment bays, a fracture room, an ear nose and throat room, gynecology room, a suture room, a resuscitation room, three triage desks, reception, the diagnostic imaging room, a lab and a medication room.
