Thanks Joe...
a lot of people do confuse the two...
Campus Health is the clinic in the basement of the student centre where you can go and see a doctor and get prescriptions. They are the ones who have stopped offering the contraceptive service.
SHEC is the student Health Education Centre. It is a service of the MSU and located on the second floor of the student centre (room 202), right beside the MSU office. Here you can get health information in the forms of pamphlets, books, etc... on everything from sexual health to nutritional info to alcohol and drugs. We also offer confidential peer support (you can come and talk to any of us privately without giving us your name or anything). Finally we offer free pregnancy tests, free condoms, free VCF, and much more. Please take the time to go on the SHEC website to find out what we do http://www.msumcmaster.ca/servicesandbusiness/shec/generalInfo/main.htm
Finally, please see the latest update on the BCP issue on the MSU website https://www.msumcmaster.ca/news/msuNews.htm . The MSU wouldn't let this issue go until students got what they deserved. We have now worked out a deal with Campus Health

Abstinence is obviously the best form of contraception, though it is the least fun!

The McMaster Students Union is delighted to announce that students will continue to have access to affordable oral contraceptives come September, despite the temporary cancellation of the program by the Campus Health Centre (CHC). The CHC and the MSU have collaborated on a short-term solution, wherein students will be able to receive oral contraceptives below standard pharmacy rates and physicians will have more flexibility in prescribing the product that most suits the client’s needs.
The MSU and the CHC will continue to work on a long-term plan that will ensure this service will not find itself on the chopping block in years to come. The MSU would like to thank the Campus Health Centre for their good-faith efforts to remedy the situation in partnership with the MSU, as well as their prompt responses to our communications. We are very pleased that economic constraints and uncertainties will not outweigh the health and wellbeing of McMaster students.

*facepalm* ahh my bad, but I assure you I meant CHC all along!
But full marks to MSU for picking up the services the Administration is slacking off on. But I hope he MSU leaders continue "harrasing" and pushing the administration to restart their service next year or even earlier; I can imagine the financial burden SHEC being a much smaller service might face if it is forced to continue offering this initiative!
