i am just wondering if the majority of the houses that are up for rent are listed in early january? or is it worth it to wait a bit longer to see what comes up?

I heard from an upper year the other day that most of the best houses aren't put up until atleast February....Do you live in rez? If you do, see if your building is having an Off Campus Housing info night - i know Brandon is and I'm pretty sure Whidden and Woodstock are too (I'm not sure about the other rez's - so you may want to check one of those out and ask questions there.

There will even be houses available over the summer. You don't have to rush into signing a lease but if you find a good house then snatch it up.

We were told last year that there is plenty of off-campus housing and you don't need to rush into anything. Apparently most off-campus housing available goes un-used b/c there is so much out there.

yeah we are on res. but i was just wondering because a lot of the houses we are calling now have already been rented

but today i think we found a really nice house...so we will most likely lease it. thanks

My boyfriend lives in off-campus housing near school for the past 2 years and both times, he signed his lease in February.

I would start looking now. If you find something good, sign for it. You don't want to wait until the summer. It could go 2 ways - all the houses are cheap in the summer because landlords are desperate to rent them out, OR all the houses are super expensive in the summer because landlords know that students are desperate to rent.

Facebook marketplace is actually a good place to look. Or just walk around the houses near school for "RENT" signs on doors and windows.
