What is "opening balance" and "student account balance"

What is "opening balance" and "student account balance"
What is "opening balance" and "student account balance" under mugsi>account statement.
And if we have money under those balances, is that the amount we still need to pay?

So basically opening balance is the amount you owe the school when the statement was last updated or created for the current year. The closing balance is how much you owe after the school has recorded payments or any money owed to you since the opening balance was put on your account. If the closing balance is negative than that amount is a credit which will be applied to future charges on your account. If there aren't any than the school will send you a cheque for that amount

opening balance: beginning of the period.
Student account balance: Current balance after any changes to the opening balance.
