Is anyone in O-chem for this semester?

Do you think Sapling is worth buying to do the quizzes for the optional 5%?

If someone doesn't mind can they put up print-screens of the service? I don't want to pay the money yet.

I find Sapling pretty good; I'm having a bit of trouble with attachments but I found it worth the money. The questions aren't too challenging but they're practice and helpful. It's probably better than buying the textbook which is not as useful as Teri's notes. Plus, it gets things wrong and she doesn't always go by it. IMO, the model kit and Sapling are more worth your money. With Orgo, especially if it's condensed and you aren't that fond of Chemistry, it doesn't hurt to get the marks from wherever you can. Sapling affords you that option

It's an online homework thing similar to masteringchem for chem 1a03 and 1aa3. It's got practice questions for each chapter and then 3 quizzes which are worth a total of 5% of you final grade

EDIT: its optional if you chose not to do it the 5% goes on your exam

Still sounds ancillary to me... basically you pay money for better marks..

I just wanted to ask a question to anyone who has taken this course recently. Which molecular model kit did you buy? I saw a more expensive one that said something about stereochemistry on it. Is that the better one to buy? Or is the cheaper kit sufficient?

Cheaper one is good enough for helping you visualize the stereochemistry. The more expensive one (solid spheres and bendy bonds I presume) helps a little bit more in visualizing steric hindrance. But that can be compensated by your imagination.

this is very interesting, considering that the Anthro1A03 course I took in term 2 with Scarangella required the mandatory purchase of myanthrolab in order to do the 10 quizzes (worth 10%) of the mark,as well as for access to research articles to be used for the course essay. how did they get away with that?

ontopic: I'm finding sapling easy to use, though I really do prefer masteringchem, to be honest... at least it's cheap, though.

Hey, does this course also have notes posted online, or not? If it does, would anyone be willing to post them here?
I'm not doing summer school, but I really don't want to fall behind, and would like to maybe start looking at the notes and familiarizing myself with a bit of the material. Thanks.
