OSAP Full time/part time question
How does the OSAP get affected if you had five courses in term 1 and cancelled one whereas changed from 5 to 3 courses next term? Will that make you part time and ineligible to receive osap or revoke the remaining OSAP allocation?

How many courses per term count as 60% of the course load?

Also will I be become a part time student if I take 3 courses now but had 5 in the previous term BUT cancelled one of them?

Please go to http://sfas.mcmaster.ca/osap.html and click on the OSAP Eligibility tab. Under Required Course Load and Status you will see how to determine % of course load per term. Dropping courses can affect your entitlement to OSAP. If you receive funds and then drop courses, you may end up with an overpayment. You are restricted from further OSAP after two overpayments. If you repay an overpayment to National Student Loans, then the restriction can be lifted. Please come into the SFAS Office, GH 120 for more info. Thanks.
