OSAP Release
Hello, I'll be heading to McMaster this September for my first year of university (yay). I was just wondering how OSAP would get the funding to me. On the main site, it said that I needed to bring a void cheque/banking information on the day I went to get my funding. I don't have a checking account, so what kind of banking info would I be required to provide? Thanks a lot for any help.

You can get OSAP to deposit the money into your student account
But if you want to get a chequing account you can get one at CIBC(they are free to students) to get that you need your student ID and I believe some form of photo ID like passport)

Do 2nd-year/upper-year students still on OSAP need to bring a void cheque/banking information on the day our OSAP is released (i.e., when we need to go sign our release documents), or do we just need to present our SIN card and some form of ID?

for the first release you don't receive any money right? since it's taken off your tuition
Also I checked the financial site and the osap release date was released and it said something like early release which is few days back before move in
It's fine to go once you move in right? but I expect the line up to be very long

Did you just go to the bank and ask for that form, or can it be obtained online?

You could also call your bank and ask them for the necessary information. I forgot what all the information is, something like. Bank Branch, Transit Number and Account Number. If you can find those online that'll work too.
