Overload Problem
I recently emailed my faculty advisers asking for permission to overload by 2 courses, and they just emailed back saying they have added an overload for me by 3 units to SOLAR.

Why only 3 units? Was this a misunderstanding or have the rules changed for overloading?

3 per semester maybe? If not emailing them back. If one thing I learn from working in an office is how fast people read emails and respond to them.

This was her exact reply:

"Dear Student,

I have added an overload for you for 3 extra units, which would allow you to take up to 33 units in 2014-15."

I'll email back. Just wanted to make sure you didn't need a certain GPA to take more than 3 extra units.

I think it's because that's the recommended amount. If you want 36 units, you'll probably have to go see an academic advisor and explain to them why you want to do so. They'll probably try to talk you out of it, but when you explain your rationale, they should allow you to overload hopefully.
