I've been thinking about my different options for buying my first year textbooks, and one idea that came to mind was getting a tablet or ebook reader and putting the textbooks on there. It would save me a lot of carrying books around and I'd have everything in one place...very handy since I'll be commuting and can't just pop into my room to get a book I forgot.

Has anyone tried this? Are textbooks available online or in ebook stores or in pdf? Is it a plausible idea?

Why not just use a laptop?

i bought one of my textbooks online last year directly from the publisher website it was soo much cheaper than getting the print copy or even a used copy & i didn't need to go through the hassle of trying to resell it. usually you can find them online and buy access for a certain period. or you can always torrent for pdfs.

yeeuppp... u can get 'em... and if ur luky u can even get 'em for free... of my 5 books i got 2 for free and the other 3 paid a relatively small price
