Are the readings for this course shorter than for 2AP3? Because I absolutely loved that course this semester but disliked the fact that the readings took up so much time.

He tests from the new edition, so you should do the readings from that.

The textbook I would have to say IS required, your grade will be effected if you do not do the readings!

This course was very enjoyable and I would recommend what was said above, buying the handbook for notes and text book is definitely worth the money.

For those who've taken the course. What did you find to be the most effective way to study for this course? I know that 20% of the test material comes from the textbook, and generally covers concepts not mentioned in lecture. What sorts of questions should I expect from these sections? Are the questions usually based on specific details/examples such as remember names and years? Or will I be applying concepts? Do you think just reading the summaries at the end of each chapter will suffice?

focus on information in the text that he did not cover in class, this material will most likely end up on the midterm/exam.

I liked this course a lot. I took it in second term 2011-2012 with Dr. Day.

If you buy the handbook and do a lot of practice from the test - bank you will do well. Also, read the textbook since it's a very easy read (especially compared to the Psych 2AP3 book).
In fact, you don't really need to read the book if you don't want for this course if you're confident in your guessing/reasoning abilities but it definitely makes getting the textbook questions more likely.

There's not much else to say, I recommend this course a lot. The material is interesting, the professor is good and helpful, the resources (lecture recordings, handbook, question bank) make getting a good mark very possible.

Audio only.
Depends what you mean by "have" to go to class.

You don't ever have to go to class...only for the midterms! But I think he's a great prof so went to his lectures anyway

I'm glad I took it at the right time then although even just audio's fine too since he puts up lecture slides as well. Day is just amazing with all the resources he gives us!

Were 50 minutes sufficient enough to complete 40 multiple choice questions or do you have to rush through really bad?

How are the textbook readings? And were the questions from the textbook really random, or if you read the textbook, would you be able to answer the question or would you have to spend hours actually reading and taking notes?

I don't want to pick an elective that is too busy.
