i've never taken 3bb3, but i can explain the calendar bit. those courses are supposed to alternate year to year, for example if psych 3bb3 is offered this year then psych 3c03 should be offered next year (when 3bb3 is not). however, this year both are offered, and last year 3bb3 was offered but not 3c03 i think. they're not prerequisites for each other though.
anyway if you are interested in taking both, i would do it this year because you never know what they will offer next year, since they're obviously not following the calendar. since the courses are both adminstered by the department of linguistics, they usually have the staff to only offer one.
