Hi,

I am taking Psych 1X03 during summer school, and I was wondering if anyone who has taken it during the summer thought it was necessary to go to the first few lectures? There is a week-long conference that I want to go to but I would miss the 2nd and 3rd lecture. How does the summer psych course work? In-class lectures? online lectures? Any weekly quizzes?

I took psych 1X03 in the summer last year and yes there are class lectures, online lectures and weekly quizzes. Everything you learn on the online lectures will be the same as what ur learning on class lectures so sometimes it is not necessary to go to class lectures. In class lectures, it is pretty much a summary of the online lectures but the prof does sometimes elaborate more on the content

The course contents is more compressed in terms of workload since summer school is shorter than the regular year. Just make sure you do the online lectures before going to class lectures so you know what the professor is explaining during it.

the weekly quizzes have a time limit of 20 mins when i took the course and the assignments are also in a quiz form.

Also, speaking of assignments, they are all online? Did you find the quizzes and assignments hard?? :S

All of the assignments are online and it terms of difficulty, the questions were all straightforward in my opinion. Just as long as you review before doing the quizzes and assignments, you'll be fine. You can pretty much use your notes when doing the quizzes, no one is going to know anyways since you're doing them online.
