I am running for Re-Election to a third term on the SRA Social Sciences caucus as one of your six representatives on the MSU Student Representative Assembly for 2011/2012. I am a third year Political Science & Sociology student minoring in Economics and I have been extensively involved with campus life and specifically with the MSU since I was a first year student.
While the MSU and SRA generate varying and often pessimistic opinions from students, in the past few years I have attempted to combat that with a two tier approach of communication with extensive innovation, research specialization and definitive successes from a project based portfolio.
The MSU for me has been much much more then just a random volunteer opportunity and instead it has something that has become an extensive part of my life and thoughts over the past two years. There is nothing I would desire more then to get re-elected and serve McMaster students in some capacity in the one last chance I have this March.
I think my point is better explained by my brief experience and accomplishment history:

I believe through my brief history above I have proven that through my commitment, innovation and flair for educated solutions I have consistently delivered exceptional results and at times substantial involvement in the issues that matter the most to students(eg: starting the email project at the SRA level and developing a knowledge base on student information systems). I have also consistently done so by finding unique ways to engage and communicate with students and using cutting edge technology and social media to my advantage.
Some of you might have noticed a lack of a giant "platform" in departure from norm. I assure you it's not because of a lack of "ideas", I have a strong repository of fully and semi developed ones. Instead it is because I am at crossroads in terms of my potential role within the MSU if re-elected, I am considering and will know by April between being a general SRA member, commissioner or hopefully a successful run for a Board of Director Position. My plan for next year I guess will be reflective of these very different end-paths.
You can vote on March 14th & 15th in Togo Salmon Hall(TSH) Lobby near the TSH 120 Lecture Hall between 9:30AM and 5:00PM.
However very importantly unfortunately I will be representing the MSU & McMaster at the Annual CASA General Meeting in Vancouver during the two polling days, which has drastically put into question my chances of getting re-elected. I would require the help and votes of anyone reading this to even stand a chance.
