They can only come in when you let them in.

The Res Managers do have a set of master keys and can open rooms if their is a reasonable cause.

Also...if there is a true reason they can always call McMaster Security or the Hamilton Police Department to search your rooms.

You are living on McMaster property and must obey their rules. If you don't...well...

Only CAs need permission in order to enter your room. If you don't let them in for any reason you better cover up that reason because they might contact security. As Danielle (lorend) said, security doesn't need permission to enter your room.

It's the same as in a hotel: just because they have keys to all the rooms doesn't mean they'll go in them unless there is a reason to do so.

They do enter during the winter break to make sure everything is unplugged (except the fridge if you have one) and the windows are closed and locked. I heard they are allowed to open any compartments belonging to McMaster, so drawers and closets, but are not allowed to open personal compartments.

I'm about to buy my sheets and covers for my res bed. I'm not sure what size to buy? There's Twin or Twin Extra-Long (few inches longer). I'm told Twin Extra-Long are made for residence-sized beds. What do you recommend?

I recomment twin extra-long. If your mattress ends up just being a twin size you can always just tuck the rest under the bed but if you have twin sized sheets on a twin extra-long bed, fail.

I'm pretty sure that all beds are twin sized unless you specifically ask for an extension.

Yep! The rez beds were twin-sized at Hedden. Actually, they felt so much smaller than my bed at home :S. So I'm guessing the rest of the residences would be around the same size.

Yup, they're a standard size.

And I think they're a bit narrower than your standard single/twin.
