If you don't have photo ID make sure you get some sort of photo ID ASAP.
I went to get me passport renewed and they told me it would get to me in the mail by sept 3rd the latest. (Move in is Sept5/Sept6) So if you go get it done tomorrow, you should be good. Otherwise, prepared to not be given keys.
If you really can't, I'd contact someone over at housing ASAP.

I emailed them and they said that you can use your student card or highschool student card.
"If you don't have a government-issued photo ID, not to worry as you
can still move in. You can bring your McMaster student card or even your
high school student card."

They also accept those photos you get from those camera booths in malls.

Yeah, when you go and pick up your keys and have to leave a photo with them (it's used if you lose your keys so they know that they aren't giving the keys to a random) they accept those photos.

I remember I had to present my student card AND a passport sized photo. They keep the photo on record in case you get locked out or something and youdon't have any ID on you.

Yep, lots of people go get passport photos because it says "passport sized photo" (It has the word passport in it), but it doesn't have to be a passport photo, it can be anything of that size.

So that's what the picture is for XD. It's so not worth spending the money thinking it's a passport photo :(. They should tell people the size of the picture, instead of saying "passport" >.<

You can go to a photo booth at your mall and get it done. I've heard some people just cut out their head from a picture with friends & family. You don't need to spend like 16 bucks on an actual passport photo though

Also...if there is a true reason they can always call McMaster Security or the Hamilton Police Department to search your rooms.
You are living on McMaster property and must obey their rules. If you don't...well...

Not true. From everything I've read, they need a warrant unless there are some extenuating circumstances. That said, when I was there if they knocked they had a pretty good reason and I wouldn't suggest ignoring them.
