Sad and Lonely
HA, just wondering how many other students here are Sad and Lonely. Seems like with a big workload finding a mate is improbable. Anyone else here sad and lonely?
Seems like this is a typical question to ask around Valentine's day. With Winter break coming up you get the same sort of situation. Without friends, family, or a mate, it is just like 3 weeks of valentine's day for me!
Sound off all you sad lonely people!

Why does being lonely always go hand in hand with being sad?
I'm lonely/alone/whatever term you wanna use and I LOVE it.
Embrace it.

I think it's normal to be sad and lonely when you're a student, you spend soo much time studying and all that. And it's like wintertime/autumn all the time... so the sun's not out cheering us up.
I'm okay in terms of loneliness, I don't need many friends to be happy. My boyfriend has been gone for a week and that's been really hard... and the assignment/exam stress is creeping up. Sighh.

I always feel sad and lonely in November, I honestly can't think of one good thing about November. It starts to get cold and gloomy, it gets dark around 5 pm, we don't have any holidays unless you want to count Remberance Day, but that's a very solemn and not so joyous occasion. So all in all, November sucks, oh well, it's gonna be over soon, and after exams it's Christmas, and I love Christmas!

yeah, when you're single...you feel like you rock
when you're in a relationship, theres all sorts of crap that distracts you from your academic goal
it creates the worst goals in life and you pursue them
relationships suck....except when you're working full-time

I disagree wholeheartedly. I much prefer being in a serious relationship over being single. I enjoy being in a relationship sooo much more.
I don't understand how it "creates the worst goals". That doesn't make any sense at all.
And no, it doesn't distract me from school... because I can manage my time (wow!).

This thread is mainly to help the person feel better about being single and lonely. You have failed.
I've been single for a few years now and it's definitely my own choice. I'm happy about it because when I think about being in a relationship I remember the bad times. You have the rest of your life to be tied down to a person so why not enjoy the moments alone while they last. Also, if you're really sad, I recommend checking out CSD so that it doesn't turn into a depression. The holidays can be quite lonely at times and I wish you all the best.
