How do I thank someone for a bursary when I do not know anything about the provider, no name, no contact info etc?

Usually they don't expect a thank you, I guess it's a nice gesture though.

If it's the standard McMaster Bursary, don't worry about it.

I went to the financial aid office to ask who gave my bursary and why I got it, so I would know how to cater the thank you letter. The lady checked my file and said in a monotone voice:
"... we gave you the bursary ... so you're welcome ..."
her face was completely deadpan.
