Scholarships?
Hey for those of you going into 2nd year or higher, anyone know any good scholarships to apply for? or where to look for scholarships to apply for?
For the in-course scholarships, how do they work? and how do you apply for the scholarships that require an applicant from here http://sfas.mcmaster.ca/scholarshipinfo.html? I can't find any application forms :S
Thanks!!

I know for eng at least the majority of the in-course scholarships they have are just mathematically awarded based on marks automatically, so you dont have to apply to any of those. Only a smaller fraction of the scholarships actually require an application form, etc.

Most are awarded in August. The application process is on-going, but many are posted over the summer. Try June-July.

Scholarships that you have gotten are located in the scholarships section of MUGSI by the way. I never got a scholarship, but I heard they don't notify you.

Yeah, that section. There should be a subsection that says "Scholarships" or something.

You would have to fund the scholarship yourself.

Well, if you want your scholarship to be part of the list McMaster has, then you will have to talk to McMaster to inquire about setting up a scholarship.
Edit: Which would probably be SFAS

Good idea, if I had money to spare I would do the same. Looks good on you and helps out others. If you go through with this you should really aim to also select the individual(s) yourself. There are a lot of intelligent people that could really use the help but don't get it (some have mentioned this on the thread).

You can also get businesses and other people to donate towards the scholarship. The only thing is that you would have to convince them, but I'm sure you get some sort of official paper or something once you get your scholarship approved by McMaster.
