Sean Corner

Dr. Sean Corner is a great prof. He's interesting to listen to, clear about his details, easy to get along with and doesn't have problems answering questions or discussing something that is of interest to you.

One of the things that I really like about him is that he took the time to learn my name. I'm one of those students who will talk to the prof after class if I have a question rather than emailing him/her. I only went to his office hours twice, once to pick up an essay and once to ask him a question about said essay while I was still working on it. Despite having only talked to me a few times in his office and after class he knew me enough to strike up a conversation with me in a bus shelter and remember my name.

Corner takes the time to get to know the students who take an interest in his class. When I look for classes to take, I look for his name on the timetable because I trust that it will be a good class.

Also, he has a facebook fan club (which I'm not sure he's aware of actually), you know he's cool when he gets his own fanclub. I haven't yet decided if I'd be creeped out with that or pleased if I were in his position...

Probably one of my all-time favourite professors. I find his lecturing style to be very easy to follow, and he doesn't drag on. He's very concise, yet very willing to answer questions during lecture if there is any misunderstandings. He switched from overheads to powerpoint this year, which was awesome =) His slides are great for outlines, because you know what you're listening for. The terms he takes for his tests come straight from lecture, so there's no surprises. But don't be fooled, his courses aren't the easiest ones [but are extremely interesting]

Invite him out for drinks sometime, he's a fantastic conversationalist.
