Selecting tutorials/labs
This has probably been asked to death but...

I'm going into social science first year and I have my courses all figured out of what I wanna take. I know SOLAR opens up on July 4th for social sciences.

Now, do I only select the lectures I wanna take and SOLAR will pick out the tutorials and labs or do I select the tutorials and labs myself?

At present you are only picking lecture sections.

We are unsure as to when or if you can pick lab and tutorial sections. It is possible that you may be able to select them later, but it is thought that they will be randomly selected for you.

If you have major conflicts with your tutorials/labs you may be able to switch them in September by talking to the prof. Talk to them before marks are given out and make sure you have a good reason... it cutting into your beauty sleep time is not going to fly I'm afraid

Your lab and tutorial sections will be automatically picked for you when the timetables are generated in August. They select ones that have the least conflicts. Once that is done, if you want to move your tutorial around and pick a different one, you can via SOLAR.

Okay, so does that mean that all we do ourselves is choose our courses and cores?

Yes. You are only choosing the courses you want/need and their core section.
