Specialization
I was just wondering how a specialization works? Can any program have a specialization?

What specific example are you considering? Specialization is just like the core program but with a focus on a certain subject, so you have to take more subjects of a certain discipline. Also, only the specializations and programs outlined in the undergrad calendar are possible, you can't create you own.
