Stéfan Sinclair is a professor in Multimedia Studies. His courses include MMEDIA 1A03, and 2D03: Electronic Textuality and Programming, among others.
Dr. Sinclair has a love for programming, and a greater love for textual analysis. One of his large projects includes the Text Analysis Portal for Research (
TAPoR) Project, which hopes to build a unique human and computing infrastructure for text analysis across the country by establishing six regional centers to form one national text analysis research portal. The portal will be a gateway to tools for sophisticated analysis and retrieval, along with representative texts for experimentation.
Stéfan's courses are very detailed and require you to dedicate yourself in order to learn the material - slacking off is not an option, especially in courses involving programming. He provides the basic tools you need to learn the material and gives room to experiment and play around with it, trying new things out and using the tools you've learned.
With text analysis playing a big part in modern web applications, especially in the field of search engines (ie. Google), expect big things from Dr. Sinclair in the future.
