Ive unfortunatly failed a second year course which I will be retaking this summer. I would like to know how this zero will affect my culminative averge (9ish over last two years) as well as how retaking the course in summer school will affect me. ie does it only give me the credit to graduate, does the mark just add to the average, or does it replace the zero?

It doesn't replace the zero, I think they take the average of both marks.

You will always have your 0. Basically if you retake it you will get a new grade, and both will be taken into consideration for your GPA.
