You have to pay as soon as you can. Interest is charged at 1.2% on the last day of every month.

*leeches information*
Oh man I've been looking everywhere for the answer to this haha. I'm also taking sem 2 courses and was worried about when my payment will go through because I didn't pay using interac, but made my bank transfer the money with my student ID included, etc. (This is how I paid for the fall courses). But I don't remember if I have to do something afterwards... I vaguely remember typing in the amount due somewhere on mugsi (maybe) LOL. Just waiting for it to show up since it was only transferred on the weekend. *stress*

Is it possible to sign up for a course, attend it till the drop date, then drop it without paying, etc?

You would still have to pay for supplementary fees and interest (if there was any).

If the balance in your student account is negative or 0 then you don't owe anything. If you recently signed up you should keep checking.
