Summer School - Tuition issue
I applied for a summer school course for first term, but dropped it during the 2nd-3rd week. I'm sure I'm supposed to get some of my money back. How do you get the money back because I haven't received anything back yet.

Thanks

It should have been automatic. Did you check your account statement?

Did you already receive the check in the mail?

Well, if there is no amount in your account statement and you didn't receive the cheque then I have no idea.

If you are sure the amount wasn't already deducted from your tuition then I would greatly suggest contacting Student Accounts & Cashiers tomorrow.

It depends on how late your dropped it...If you dropped it on, or slightly before the drop deadline, then you get no money back from the course (which sucks a lot...I know from personal experience). Each day that passes decreases the amount refunded should you drop a course.

But when you drop a course, your student account is credited immediately. Pop onto MUGSI, check your Account Statement, and check the activity for whatever month it was you dropped it in. If you see a -$XXX or whatever for Cancellation, then your account was already credited but had a positive balance. You may also have to check the initial charge on your summer semester...like if you took 4 courses then dropped one, you may see that you were only charged for 9 units instead of 12 (again, depending on the timeframe and when exactly you dropped it)

If not, then it may have been too late in the semester to get a decent amount of money back. 2-3 weeks isn't a substantial part of a normal semester, but it's a good chunk of a summer semester.

Is that how it is for summer courses? Because it's very different for fall/winter courses. (I'm asking because I actually can't find anything about course cancellations for summer courses)

This is quite off top but can we pay online by Interact Online anytime on September 1 or does it have to be by 12 am on Sep 1?

Yeah, specifically for the summer.

Here's what it looked like when I cancelled a course during the fall/winter term...you should see something that vaguely resembles this on your account statement:
