My friend just got accepted as a transfer student from Brock U to Mac... and gained entry into Level 2 B.A. History.

He was hoping to switch from the B.A. program into a combined honours program next year which would be his 3rd year.... is this possible???

It is definitely possible. Your friend simply needs to take the appropriate courses and maintain a high enough average which will allow him into the combined honours for the programs of his choice. I was in psychology for two years and switched into a Combined Honours Philosophy and Religious Studies in my third year. I'd recommend that he speaks to an academic advisor to keep him on track so that all of the course requirements are met.

It should be possible. I was in a BA program, then graduated...then decided to do another year to get the honours BA degree.

You just have to change your program. I would suggest going to the registrar's office and tell them you want to switch into the 4 yr program. As long as you have the prerequisites for it, it should be fine.

You don't need to see the Registrar's office, just an academic adviser with the Humanities Department. He might even be able to switch right away.

I switched from Honours Sociology to Combined Honours Sociology and Religious Studies in November/December-ish of my fourth year. I just went to see an academic adviser for Social Sciences and asked her how I could switch. In less than a half an hour, I was switched, told which courses I needed to take to meet my degree requirements, and she even made it so that I didn't have to complete the required 6 units in a humanities course for graduation. So overall, it was a pretty sweet meeting!
