Textbooks for 1st year life sci classess?? (1A03 and 1M03)
Does anybody know the textbooks used for 1st year life sci courses eg bio (1A03 and 1M03), psych, chem, physics, and math (1LS3)?

Yep. A lot of it has to do with either, evolving material (such as in biology, current research is advancing) or with professor preference and teaching style (in math, where the material is pretty much set in stone).

I doubt they usually do.. But editions could definitely change.

They usually don't, but the chances are higher for science courses. I hope they don't, I want to sell my books XD

not alot. usually a difference in edition which usually is just the addition of new info that came out since the last edition - if for example they discovered a new method of doing things or using a different example to show something.
also make sure you either buy used or after a week so you can see if you will need it.

I hope you're right! it would be so much more convenient for upper AND first year students if they stay the same :S.. So I'm guessing there's absolutely no way to find out until the first day of class?

hmm sometimes, most of the text book is conserved between editions I noticed. Anyways, the chem book used at mac/waterloo/york last year are all the same.. lol i wish i knew before though, my friends would have given me their books for free.. don't rush out to buy your books. PS when buying textbooks from upper years, make sure it's lower than titles used price.. i almost got scammed when i was a niave first year.
