Timetable and registration help
A little background information... New student here, transfering into my second year of civil engineering from Ryerson. I'm all new to this registration, I have no idea what's going on. Previously at Ryerson, most of the course selection is automated, and you just pick and choose from an available list of course. I have no clue how units, gpa's or any other grading system works. I've received my letter of admission less than a month a ago, and since it's been hectic organizing everything.

Anyways, here's my timetable. There seems to be a notice about course conflicts, namely CIV ENG 2b04. This suprised me since all the courses on my timetable are mandatory courses. Does this mean I'm screwed for the course since it doesn't fit into my schedule. Or, as time allows, will the admin team at Mac open up more classes in conjunction for the available spots I have. I'm lost.

Also, where the heck do I change around my timetable so that it can better suit me? Is there a certain date and time where I am able to manually change the courses I want to take. And is there a variety of available courses? I personally don't like time in-between my classes, I'd rather get them all done with and have a chunk load of time for the rest of the day. More than a single one-hour break a day starts to get rather annoying and then the remainder of the classes for the day are pushed back, rather cumbersome and takes away from studying/relaxing time in my opinion.

you would have received a mac-id. Activate your mac account. https://adweb.cis.mcmaster.ca /cis/ahtml/login.htm (Mugsi/mac account)

once your done activating, login to SOLAR (for student on-line academic registration ). Thats where you'll have the opportunity to add/drop and switch core/lab/tut classes around.

A "sectioning conflict" essentially means that you have two classes happening at the exact same time and so on August 9th, when SOLAR re-opens for all registered students, you can resolve your existing conflict by choosing either of the conflicting courses for a different time slot.
In order for you to know about class times, visit the link (https://adweb.cis.mcmaster.ca /mtt/) := its the Master time table. Type in your faculty and the conflicting course code, -> select FIND. Scan for a different time slot that suits your schedule.

For your program, you have a list of mandatory courses .
CIVIL ENG ( http://registrar.mcmaster.ca /calen...13/pg1207.html )

Prepare a conflict free timetable (more like a mock timetable) that looks similar to your existing personal time table here ( http://asylumartists.com/mcmaster/generator.html ), TIME TABLE GENERATOR. this will keep you organised for tomorrow ( SOLAR OPENS, 8:30 am for course changes, etc ).

HOPE THIS HELPS !!! pheww....!!!
