too late for residence???
Hi, I just applied for residence few days ago. Is it too late? What is the chance getting a residence offer for first year student?

well your chances to getting into residence depends on your grades as well ie. 90% or above I believe is guaranteed residency to your first preference. However, im not sure what exactly are the consequences to applying late. Maybe someone could pitch in on that.

here's a link for late application: https://residence.mcmaster.ca /Defa...X7VeZs0 4E%3d

#Wait list students to be ordered by academic average - 4pm June 1st, 2012
#applications received after June 1st will be added to the waiting list based on date and time received

If you applied after June 1, then your application is automatically placed on the waiting list based on the time and date you put it in. From what I gather, your average does not matter since it was too late.
Here's the site on residence admission for first year http://housing.mcmaster.ca/Residence...irst_year.html

It's actually 95% by june 1, where you get guaranteed single room only if you apply by the deadline and with the deposit. You can't tell how late you at because you'll be placed on a waiting list so it depends on how much the wait list moves. Don't despair though! But I would start looking into other options in case you're too far down the list

Hi, I'm a prospective student too. I'm pretty sure they put you on a waitlist if you missed the deadline. The way it works I think, is that the people who submitted the form before you get placed in rez first and only if there are any extra places left will you get a room. So if you were the first person to submit your application after the deadline, you'd be put first on the waitlist, and if you were the 50th person, you'd be placed 50th on the waitlist. The further back you are on the waitlist, the lower the chances that you'll be getting into rez but only McMaster Housing could tell you for sure. Your best bet would be to email [email protected] r.ca and ask them. They're really helpful and respond very quickly.

Good Luck!!
