Tuition Rebate
Hey everyone, I was just wondering if anyone has gotten their 30% tuition rebate for this term? I am on OSAP, so I was told that I would not need to fill out an application. It is almost April, and I just wanted to see if I was the only one who hasn't received it :(.

I don't think so... I'm on osap and owe enough money but still got my tuition rebate in the mail. There should be a phone number that you can call and ask for the status of your rebate, I'd suggest you do that asap.
Also make sure you meet all the criteria: - You're a full-time student at a public college or university in Ontario
- It's been less than four years since you left high school
- You're in a program that you can apply to directly from high school
- Your parents' gross income is $160,000 or less

Confused
I also have OSAP but I didn't receive a cheque from them. I did get a $800 bursary from the school in February. Would that be the same thing?

if you already got over $1600 from the ontario access grant you dont get the rebate, so that might be why you haven't gotten it yet

not true... actually, if you are on OSAP you are automatically considered
the only thing is if you already receive ontario access grant the amount gets deducted from the rebate

Just to clarify a few things.
If you qualified for the grant it does not matter if you owe osap money, you will still get the cheque.
Yes as others mentioned if you received an access grant than the amount you received will be deducted from the grant (access grants are only given to 1st and 2nd years)
As well, whatever form of payment you receive your osap in (cheque in the mail or direct deposit) that is how you will receive the funds.
Many people have already received the money. However its been a long process (they had to verify income, verify enrolment, and verify your coarse load) so there are still students who have not received it (including myself).
There is a number you can call where you input your social insurance number, and then speak to a representative who will tell you all the details about your funds (if you qualified, how much you will be getting, and where you stand in terms of payment) - if you did qualify they are more than likely going to tell you to just be patient and that they are in the process of getting everyone their money.
