Tutorial before the class???
I have a few courses where the tutorial is right before the actual class. Is this a pro or a con?

Pro: You end earlier.

Con: You can't ask your TA questions that you formulate during class time. You'll have to e-mail them instead in order to get your questions answered or wait until the following tutorial.

I would say con... it might be easier to understand the tutorial stuff if you;ve been to the class

I think it depends entirely on the class. Some classes, it's a major con, whereas others it doesn't matter at all. Usually though, classes have 3 lectures a week...do you mean "before" as in, you have your tutorial Mon and class Tues, Wed, Fri? Or "before" as in you have your tutorial at 10:30 on Fri and the class at 1:30? You might run into problems in the first scenario, but likely not in the second.

Right now, I have world religions on Wednesday (only one core) for the two terms. For tutorials, they are only on Wednesdays right before or after the lecture.

I was considering taking the tutorial before so that I could get home early as class goes from 7-10 and having the tutorial after would mean ending at 11. As of right now, I'm commuting home on the GO to Mississauga.

Do you think I would be a disadvantage to have the tutorial before? Can I change it afterwards (after September) if I do not like class after?

I believe I have Philosophy 1b03 and Japanese 1z06 where I have this problem. For example the tutorial for philosophy would be at 10:30 and the actual class would be at 11:30. I like how it fits my schedule but I'm just wondering if it's going to be a disadvantage having it at that time.

World Religions run from 7 pm to 9 pm. Tutorial before is 6 pm to 7 pm; after is 9 pm to 10 pm.
As far as I know, nothing goes later than 10 pm.

Juicebox says thanks to ShadowPlay for this post.
