Prospective Student's Question:
What happens after May 31st? (or even after April 30th)?
No school? Go Home?
Is this a university-equivalent of a summer break??
just curious....Thanks!

Yup! Being in university means you get a 4-month summer lol. There are still summer courses, but most people do go home or move into their houses off campus.

So what is reading week like? What do u do during reading week? I've heard so much of it but I havent actually know what it is.
I have also heard you get Friday off. so that means you have a 3-day weekend? Is that true?

Reading Week was designed to be a week for students to do reading (hense the time). Generally that time in the term there is a lot of work to be done, so that week comes at a good time to play catch up. However, a lot of people use Reading Week to go away on vacation.
The school is open during that time (as in all services), and is considered a normal week for most places of work.
Friday off when? During Reading Week? No. Sometimes profs will cancel their classes on that day, but they have to work during reading week, so most often that does not happen.

Thanks for the response. But for the question about Fridays, I meant weekly basis for the whole year. Do you get Fridays off?

It would depend on your timetable. Some people luck out and don't have class on Fridays. It also would depend on what program you're going into on how lucky you could be.

Yup. I never had fridays off in four years. I've had thursdays off, and Wednesdays off, and most of Tuesday off as well.
I really would appreciate getting Monday or Fridays off though.

The closest I've come to getting a Friday off is having only one class on Friday this term. So sometimes I make it a 3-day weekend when I want to go home
