Using Student Card at Titles
So I know when you use your student card to buy books/other from titles it goes on your student account with McMaster. But I'm a little confused as to when it has to be paid off.

here: http://www.bookstore.mcmaste r.ca/i...-accounts.html

it says that "The last day to charge on Undergrad Student Charge Accounts is March 31, 2011. Payment is due by April 15, 2011."

and also says "...will have to be paid back before you receive your marks or register for the next semester."

So if we use it during first semester do we have to pay it off before 2nd semester or can we pay it off before the end of the year?

Any help from anyone who's familiar with this is appreciated.

the deadline to pay it off is at school year's end and that includes purchases for term 1. but remember, the longer you don't pay, the more interest adds up. interest increases every month by 1.2 or 1.4 percent (not sure).

if you don't pay it, your grade report and degree audit ( term 2 marks only) will be blocked until you have paid it off. term 1 marks will be released even if you haven't paid your fees in december/january.

the last day to charge your account is march 31 because april is exam time and then want you to settle your account before grades are released instead of adding on to it in april.

1.2% compounded monthly on the last day of each month.

I cancelled my summer course this past summer, so my account balance on MUGSI is $-400and-something. Am I correct in thinking that I can use this toward my textbooks? Like, will the money be automatically taken from that refund-thing?

yes you can use it for buying books but they might have sent a refund cheque for the balance that they owe you. you might want to call student accounts and get that confirmed.

Allana:) says thanks to icecubz for this post.
