The RICH LEGACY (Research in International Cardiovascular Health - Lifestyles, Environments and Genetic Attributes in Children and Youth) study is an international collaboration to evaluate characteristics of individuals, families, schools and communities associated with obesity and risk factors for heart disease (blood pressure, glucose and lipids) in 7-8 and 14-15 year olds.
Volunteer position requires a commitment of at least
4 hours/week and a minimum of 80hrs for completion. After successful completion, a certificate verifying volunteer/clinical/research hours will be provided.

Job Description:
The successful applicant will be expected to contribute to the research effort in a number of
ways. This will include, but is not limited to:
● Assisting staff with data collection from participants in a clinical setting (schools and clinic site in Brampton/Peel Region)
● Telephone scheduling of clinic assessments
● Building and maintaining positive relations with participants
● Working with other research team members
● Administrative and data entry tasks associated with the study
Skills required:
● Some university education in allied health field or health sciences
● Experience dealing with people, with emphasis on communication skills, ability to
establish rapport, ability to assess a situation and respond accordingly
● Well organized, attention-to-detail, and ability to handle many tasks concurrently
● Professional and mature, in working with participants and handling confidential and
sensitive information
● Experience in a research setting is an asset, however, training will be provided
● The ability to work with other members of the team
