I want to move out while still attending Mac. Need some advice.
I have a lot of problems going on at home. I don't want to give out too much information about my situation but My family environment is very toxic. my parents are not supportive of me at all; it's a whole a lot of emotional abuse with plenty of insults towards me. I was planning on moving out after graduation but I'm at my wits end and I can't deal with them anymore.

I'm in Commerce II and I have 2-3 years left of school (depending on internship). Currently I have no job as I depend on my parents for food and shelter. I am also getting student loans from OSAP so my parents don't pay a dime for my tuition.

Now, if I were to move out near McMaster I would need a part time job to support me and I might have to study part time as well pushing how many years I have in school left. I will become estranged from my family so how will my OSAP work? Will I get less than enough money from OSAP because I would have a job even though I would have 0 parental support?

Has anybody else moved out while getting no support from their family? Any other general advice?

I'm just really upset right now. Need a little support :(

Go see the financial aid people to ask them what the process is for being considered for OSAP independently of your parents, and google it before going in so you have an idea of what to expect and what questions to ask.
Taking a year off to work full time might also be something to consider.
