What's the best way to exchange courses/ or drop/add a course without the risk of someone else taking the course while you're attempting to refresh your page?

Random time, probably best between 3:30-4:30am.

Would it be acceptable to email the department with both of our names and student numbers, so they do a drop/add for us?

I'm pretty sure they have other things to do...It can't hurt to try, but I really wouldn't be surprised if they said to do it yourself, or that they couldn't because of potential scamming, etc.

Actually, you can get help from the department advisors. I've done that in the past with one course I really needed. The lady called us to her office where my friend dropped and she reserved it and put me in. So it's possible, you just gotta talk to them.

However, if you do it around 3-5 amish, you should have no problems at all. I recently did that for a highly demanded course around 10:30 am and still did got in with no issues. Maybe I just got lucky lol

BlueWave says thanks to Phantom for this post.

There is no best way because it's not a direct swap. At best, you're only 60-75% certain to make the exchange. Petition the school to allow for direct swapping - that's the best bet.
