Who are the McMaster Shaolin Kung Fu Association & YWCA McMaster?
McMaster Shaolin Kung Fu Association?
We are a recreational class that has been in Mac for 13 years in counting. We operate under the DBAC rec programs. We meet twice a week to train in the art of Shaolin Kung Fu - ancient form of martial arts developed by monks who resided at temples located deep inside forests, and needed a way to stay fit for their LONG periods of meditation. We also have full contact sparring, in which protective gear are a must.
If you want to get fit, or stay fit feel free to drop in and check our club out.
We meet every Monday and Wednesday at 9:30 pm - 11:00 PM, at the Activity Centre room in DBAC. Don't hesitate, newcomers and experienced are welcomed alike.
YWCA McMaster:
YWCA McMaster is a official sub-committee of the Social Action Committee of YWCA Hamilton. YWCA Mac is an affiliate of YWCA Hamilton. We aim to provide opportunities for the students of McMaster to participate in fundraising events and volunteerism within the Hamilton community.
Our goal is to be the change. YWCA Mac wants to create awareness that struggles are not just a national and international issue. The struggles of poverty and abuse occur daily in our local community of Hamilton and there's so much we can do. As a McMaster student, these everyday social struggles are not impossible to compare our lives to.
