I'm not sure if you guys know, but McMaster already has a similar club: The McMaster Poetry and Creative Writing Club.

I was involved with it in first year and one of my friends is an exec this year.

We are aware of that club, but we wanted to focus more on novel writing specifically, with NaNoWriMo as the main event. Initially we wanted to create a nanowrimo club, but extend it to year round. Our goal is to focus also more on the creating, editing and publishing process for novellas and novels, and so we're fairly confident that our club purposes are not too alike.

I would definitely join this if my schedule isn't too crammed

I would be interested in joining this. I was also a part of the Poetry and Creative Writing club last year, but I found that it was more focused on poetry, which I do not write (because I'm terrible at it). If this club were to actually turn out how you described it then the two would definitely be different.

Agreed. While I was not apart of the Creative Writing club, I feel like the emphasis on poetry (I do not write traditional poetry, mostly spoken word) would be enough to sway me towards this club, because I am more interested in the publication/novel writing aspects at this point in my writing.
