2nd year electives
Hey MacInsiders,

I need a lil help choosing second year electives for Engineering. Wasn't too impressed with the list i was offered.
Then again, what do I know!

I don't want to pick electives with alot of essays and analysis of passages and writings (History, political science... ENGLISH!!, LITERATURE!) Coz i was never good at English or essay writing.

May be something along the lines of economics like first year.

thnx in advance

I think every engineer has this thought at one point. I can give you a list of electives that you can avoid paper writing and you are eligible for, but in the end you need to take what you are interested in and what you think will fit with your schedule best. Also, this late in the summer choosing electives, a lot may be full. Here are some of the ones I considered because of essay avoiding.
Econ 1B03 (took this,easy)
Econ 1BB3 (took this,easy)
Linguistics 1A03
Linguistics 1AA3
Social Science 2P03, 2O03, 2R03 (great prof)
Econ 2T03
Geography 1HA3,1HB3 (these have mini writing assignments)
Psyc 1X03
Psyc 1xx3 (has group writing assignment)

Linguistics is the study of languages. Its morphology and phonics. Kinda cool if your into that.
The social sciences are more "dinner conversation" lessons. Children in Canada, Adolescents in Canada, and Women in the Workplace were the three courses. For example, one discussion was the concept of "glass ceilings" in the workplace for women.
