				Admission Cut Off Average
Hey guys, Wondering if someone can help me?

What does the admission cut off range mean?

For example, if it says 82-84 does that mean if you have above that you get in?

Im applying for Med Rad Sciences which is solely based on your 6 Gr 12 marks, no supplementary application or anything.

Also heard that the cut off range for this program is going up to 84-85 so I would love to know what it actually means.. lol

 Thanks!

 | It strictly means that was what the cut off average was for ppl applying to Med Rad last year. So if this particular year of grade 12 students have higher than the 82-84, and there is a lot of applications for med rad, the cutoff average will go up as there are limited spaces in med rad. |

 | Good explanation Stan. Basically if you take all the people who applied last year, order them in a list by what marks they had, and then take the top x amount of people who get accepted... the LAST person who got accepted had a mark in that 82-84 range. Thus, last year you'd have to get higher than that to make the cut.
As Stan mentioned, every year varies depending on the range of marks people have and the number of people applying to get in.

 | Thanks guys!!! Makes sense! I heard medrad is going up.. maybe to 84-85 this year. But of course, that is just hear-say. I have just over an 87 right now so hopefully that will be enough to get me into this competitive program.
 Thanks alot!!!

 | And the number of applicants to Mac have gone up...there was something like 30 000 this year, apparently.
 Anywhoo, best of luck.

 | Thanks for the support guys!!!! I will definitely let you know.
As a mature student finally finding something I am interested in is really exciting.. so hopefully I can keep up the good marks for midterms especially and then to finals!

 | It's always very exciting when you finally find a field that interests you and pursue it. If you're interested in the work you do, then it'll be fun to learn and explore the field. Also, studying will become easier if you're interested in the material |

 | LOL! The math is the part I like. That has been the easiest for me to jump back into. I mean I only graduated highschool 7 years ago... not too long ago, but long enough to forget some things.
Chemistry is the one thats killing me!

 | I'm not the best in Math, hense why I'm in Humanities ..but I'm going to be pursuing management/MBA which means I have to get my math skills back on track for the GMAT. Conclusion, you just can't get away from math! |

 | LOL! Ok so... anywhere the admission cut off is posted, it also says that the accurate cut off for 2008 will be known my mid March.
Do they change the website to reflect that?
