Current IntroPsych TA
Hey everyone,
I can definitely say that being an IntroPsych TA is great, I really enjoyed the experience and will be returning next year. As an intropsych TA you get a unique opportunity to actually TEACH a really diverse class with students coming from various faculties. There is also a decent amount of mature students as well, in fact last semester I taught a student that was perhaps twice my age.
As for how much work it is, it really depends, personally I put in A LOT of time so that I could be a great TA, as John mentioned it is up to you. I would peg my hours as well into the 100 range.
As for 3TT3, it is a heavy workload and the expectations are very high as that well the entire class is full of high achieving TA's who were hand selected by Dr. Kim himself.
- Nevertheless It is not a GPA killer by any means. Most of the class (if not
everyone) ends up with some sort of A. If anything it is a time killer, with many
assignments (may be reduced next year, but who knows)
As for selection, It is VERY competitive. If you are granted an interview then come to it very prepared and knowing your presenting material backwards and forwards (remember to keep it simple as possible).
Best of Luck
