Bio 3AA3

This course is good.

I believe the break down was something like this:
20% Tutorial Assignments (6)
20% Midterm
20% Project
40% Exam

The midterm was very easy and was about 40 MC questions. I think the average was anywhere between a high 80 or a low 90.

The tutorial assignments were also very easy, and most people got over 90 on them.

The project really wasn't a lot of work and covers popular issues in pharmacology.

The exam was fairly challenging however and required both very specific knowledge and a good knowledge of the course topics.

Apparantly this course was easier this year because the prof was having medical problems. He's a really good teacher though, and is passionate about teaching you the material. Courseware for the course is good too, no textbook.

Have you taken Bio 3UU3 as well? I can't seem to decide between Bio 3AA3 and Bio 3UU3. If you did take Bio 3UU3, which course would you say you preferred taking? They sound so interesting and take place at the same time :(

Yeah I took both.

I liked both classes about the same.

The content in 3UU3 is interesting but I couldn't stand going to lecture, so I never went.

3AA3 is interesting too, but there's certainly a bit more work to do in the course (tutorial based assignments. But I'd say that it's easier than 3UU3 by a small margin.

Both are solid choices really.

I thought he was pretty good, he's very knowledgeable and passionate about the material so he's great in that sense. His explanation of material is fine as well and he is always willing to entertain questions.

So, how important is stuff like orgo to doing well? The subject seems interesting, but it relies too heavily on orgo...

its pharmacology, so organic chem is really not all that important. this course has more to do with drugs and important concepts in pharmacology (ex. drug-drug interactions, drug distribution/absorption, effects on the body [liver, kidney etc.]).

also organic chem is not even a pre-req, so you don't need to worry about it being organic heavy...
